Privacy first

The signup is public to your group. Their data is not.

SimpleSignup collects only what is needed to coordinate a commitment: first name, last initial, and email address.

What other participants see

Public signup pages show only a first name and last initial, such as “Maya R.” Email addresses never appear in public HTML or public responses.

What the organizer sees

Only the original organizer, signed in through a secure one-time email link, can view participant email addresses or manage assignments.

How email is protected

Participant email addresses are encrypted before storage. A separate one-way value prevents duplicate claims without exposing the address. Encryption and access keys are stored only as hosted secrets.

When information is deleted

Participant contact data is automatically erased 30 days after the signup’s final slot. Organizers can delete a signup earlier, and a participant can permanently erase their own contact data from the private management page after cancelling.

What SimpleSignup does not do

There are no advertisements, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels, or marketing emails. SimpleSignup does not ask for children’s names and does not sell participant information.

Service email

Emails are limited to confirmation, calendar details, organizer changes, cancellation, and reminders scheduled for two days before, one day before, and the morning of the event.
